Hi! I'm Cynthia.

When I was 20, I moved from the US to Costa Rica to take university classes. After one week of Spanish class, I was so bad at the language that my professor yelled in my face, called me stupid, and told me to never come back. I cried...a lot. But it's also the moment I decided that one day I wanted to teach people learning English as a new language. I would give them a totally different experience.

That was 23 years ago. Now I speak fluent Spanish. I also have a master's degree in English, and I have been teaching English for more than two decades. There is nothing I would rather do.

I have thousands of hours of experience teaching conversational and academic English, grammar, vocabulary, accent reduction, and listening skills—all the parts that work together to maximize communication. And the more communication, the more community we can build. That’s why I started English UNITE. We are so much better together. Let's UNITE!
